Fanhams Hall, Ware Wedding Photography
Fanhams Hall Wedding Ceremonies
Fanhams Hall was built in the early 18th century near Ware in Hertfordshire. Its rich history is evident all around and is one of my favourite wedding venues. There are three places where you can have your wedding ceremony. Inside you can say 'I do' in The Long Gallery, The Oak and White Hall and The Great Hall with fabulous original features. Of if you want a more modern vibe, The Hertford and Ware or The Lakeside Pavilion. If the weather is kind, you can hold your ceremony on The Gazebo Lawn or the beautiful Japanese Tea House. All stunning backdrops that make for amazing wedding photography.
Your Couple Portraits
You spend very little time on your own during a wedding day (if any!) and if you would like to have a few photographs as a couple, you do need to leave your guests for a few moments. The way I work is that I preserve the story of a natural quiet stroll that you take through the grounds, you can stop if you wish once or twice at your favourite locations. I wont pose you (unless you have asked me to). We will have discussed what works well for you at our pre-wedding meeting. If you decide to go with a different vibe on the day, that is ok with me! I will just remind you of your favourite locations at the start of the walk. It's more about spontaneous moments and your natural feelings at this time.
Pre-Wedding meeting
I always meet with couples before their wedding day to hear all their plans, timings, family dynamic and look at their favourite spots to be included in their walk. Fanhams Hall is one of those places where it is vital that I meet with couples at the venue. There are so many beautiful places around the grounds that could spend all day taking couple photos! Which is obviously not what you want. So if I know your absolute favourite spots, I can make sure these are included in your walk and time isn't wasted in other areas of the grounds.
Fanhams Hall Grounds
The grounds at Fanhams Hall are fabulous and offer several different areas to take couple photos, all with a different vibe. There is The Japanese Garden with its tea house and choice of two bridges. The red bridge is surrounded by Japanese ornaments and planting and the green bridge leads you over a more natural pond with Willow Tree. The walk from the house includes the tunnel of Wysteria which looks gorgeous in May. The extremely tall trees nearby are also a lovely place to take a quiet walk. If you would like a more formal background, there is the sunken garden with pond and fountain, a stunning location with the magnificent house in the background. The steps are also ideal for group photos, either with the house in the background or the gardens and fountain. Then there is the lime tree walk and pathways with ornamental arches or you can pose in the round holes in the walls! The pond in front of the Pavilion is also a pretty spot. For something really natural a stroll through the meadow is a must, just endless possibilities. The ducks usually put in an appearance and there may be a pheasant or two, plus a black cat! However, please bear in mind that if there is another wedding taking place the same day, you may not be able to access certain areas. I will have contacted the venue to find out about others weddings beforehand, so that I know where we can go.
