Lauren and Ben had planned a big wedding at a venue in Berkhamsted but then covid restrictions took over. Their wedding was postponed and their original venue decided not to renew it's wedding license due to all the restrictions in place. So everything was moved to the White Hart in Ampthill with 30 people allowed to attend weddings at this time. Two days before the wedding, restrictions changed once again and Lauren rang me on the Thursday evening to tell me that the 'wedding breakfast' would have to be held on the Friday night the day before the ceremony on the Saturday. Lauren and Ben were un-phased and changed their plans once again with one day to go. I was in the north of England and due to return on the Friday night but I quickly backed my bags and travelled down that evening so that I would be ready for the Friday celebrations.
The White Hart supplied a gorgeous meal for all 30 guests on the Friday night with a Saxophonist playing music in the background ( no dancing allowed of course). All the guests returned for the ceremony on the Saturday being held at 4pm.
As it turned out this was one of the last ceremonies to take place for a while as the second immediate full lock down was announced by the government literally as Lauren and Ben were saying their vows! The manager of the hotel told the registrar of the announcement when the ceremony ended. I was very privileged to take photos at both events.
