The colour and spectacle of Avani and George's multicultural fusion blessing at Bushey Arena was amazing! It was a joy to photograph. Avani's parents live in Bushey and found me online. Avani and George travelled down from their Norfolk home to meet me and we started discussing their two day wedding plans with great excitement immediately. There was to be lots of music provided by their very talented families, art installations, decorations, lights, dancing and dinsosaurs. Although they hadn't planned them, there were even fireworks provided by another local venue! The music and dancing continued outside late into the warm August evening. This is what the couple had to say about me after their wedding day.
"Karen is a brilliant photographer, a lovely person, and was an absolute pleasure to work with. We met with her a couple of times before the wedding, once for a practice shoot, and when we told her what we envisioned for the day, she offered us expert suggestions on how to feel comfortable in front of the camera. Her kind and warm nature was very reassuring and neither of us ever felt awkward or uncomfortable. The wedding spanned a couple of days, included traditions from various cultures, and had 250 guests, but Karen was totally unfazed. She took everything in her stride even when we totally ignored the schedule in favour of a more ‘go with the flow’ approach. The photographs she sent us were amazing: full of colour and character. They truly captured the playfulness of the day and it was such a joy to see so many special moments. Several of our guests have commented on the fact that they hadn’t even realised a photographer was present – something that they had never experienced before at a wedding. There is no one else we would have wanted to document our day and we will treasure Karen’s photographs forever.
