Welcome to Wedstock!
Sarah and Rob wanted a festival vibe for their relaxed wedding day and asked at their local farm shop if they could use a field.
They were married at the church in the village of Walkern in Hertfordshire. Pots of Lavender decorated the path to the front door and bunting hand made by their mums adorned the inside. After the ceremony the couple hopped on the back of a decorated cart which took them to the field at Church Farm Ardeley.
Guests had already pitched their tents and a campfire had been built ready to light later in the evening. Hay bales were scattered about for guests to sit on along with outdoor games for everyone to play. The cows in the next field seemed very interested. The marquee was decorated with bunting again made by the Mum's from a selection of the couple's childhood clothes. Sarah had knitted favours that sat in a selection of assorted vintage cups and saucers. Sarah sourced these from the internet, charity shops and car boot sales. An ingenious touch was to glue three plates together using sherry glasses to make cake stands for each table. Place names were small paper windmills, again made by the bride. Afternoon tea was followed by games in the field outside and a BBQ with produce from the farm shop was served in the evening. A Kaylee band kept everyone on the dance floor until guests gathered around the campfire or went back to their tents. I think it was the most relaxed wedding I have ever been to and a day I think everyone will remember forever.
